Key Stage 1 Trip to Beaumanor Hall for a Victorian Day 27th June
Year 2 had a wonderful day at Beaumanor Hall learning all about the Victorians and life as a Victorian child.
We had Sports Day on Thursday 22nd June.

Sports Day 2017 Warm Up
We warmed up like Mo Farrah and Usain Bolt!
We had Mr Baker in to school to teach us about bees.
We learnt that bees are an important part of plants and how they grow as well as how they affect fruit growing. We tried some of his honey too!
We have been learning about plants. These are some of our paintings.

We went on to the field and collected leaves. We then identified which species they were.
We did a Victorian assembly.
We have learnt that the Victorians used to draw silhouettes.
We tried to make some of children in our class.
We tried different Victorian games.
We tried skittles, marbles, spinners and hoops! It was great fun!
On Thursday 8th December, Year 2 and reception went to St. Luke's Church Mother's Union Christmas party and sang Christmas carols and songs to them.
Today we had the pantomime Dick Whittington in school.
We have been designing the order of service for the Christmas Carol Service.
We designed and then made gingerbread people.
In Science we have been making and testing out paper boats.
We have been measuring using different equipment.
We can partition 2 digit numbers into tens and ones.
To celebrate Diwali we made divas
On Friday 18th March 2016, the school had a visit from the zoo. We were able to learn about different living creatures, their habitats and hold a range of animals (if we wanted to!)
Year 2 Assembly on the Great Fire of London
Year 2 put on a fantastic assembly re-enacting the story of the Great Fire of London. Parents were amazed at the depth of their knowledge and enjoyed the drama, dancing and singing!
Art Focus 2016
We have been studying the Willow Pattern Story as part of our Chinese New Year Celebrations and Art Focus.
We wrote the story, painted key parts of the story, designed our own plates and printed using foam tiles.
We have been studying the first landing on the moon!
