‘Through God’s love, we are the rich soil where
roots grow and seeds flourish.’ Luke 8:4-15

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Homework

Thank you!

We would like to say a BIG thank you for all your presents, cards and well wishes this week. It is really appreciated, especially during this uncertain time. We hope you all have a restful Christmas, stay safe and don't eat too much chocolate if you can resist (will power!). Enjoy sleeping in, relaxing, watching Christmas/festive movies and read a novel. This is the time to re-charge those batteries.

Just a reminder that your child now has a St Luke's email address which we sent home on Wednesday.  This account is ONLY to be used in case we have a bubble closure. Please ensure your child does not use the account even for the chat section. We have told the class but a kind reminder would be appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you in the new year on Monday 4th January 2021.

Merry Christmas Year 4!

Christmas Holiday Homework

Due to popular demand (yes really), we have set some homework for the holidays.

TTRS

Your target is at least 5 minutes on Studio x8 times over the two weeks. This will help to improve your speed. Remember little and often!

Spellings

In January, you will have a spelling test on a range of the spellings from the autumn term. Look back at them and the patterns you have covered so far.

Purple Mash

I have set a reading activity on Purple Mash.

Spring learning 2021

Next year our topic will be - Where in the world. Here is a run down of what your child will learn.

Geography - the local environment.

Science - Electricity.

Maths - we will continue with our Multiplication and Division block.

English - Writing imaginative Narratives.

Shared Read - Alice in Wonderland.

RE - Gospel - What kind of world did Jesus want?

Tuesday 15th December - Pupils can wear Non uniform/ party clothes if they wish as it is our Christmas party in the afternoon. No football kits please

Wednesday 16th December - Wear your Christmas jumper for our Christmas lunch.

Thursday 17th December - School uniform as usual.

Friday 18th December - PE kit.

Last day of term - Friday 18th December 2020

Christmas and End of year Party

We are currently looking at having a Christmas party during the last week of term. We are provisionally looking at the date - Tuesday 15th December. We will send further details shortly.

Last day of term is Friday 18th December.

Christmas Cards

Year 4's Christmas post box is now open. Pupils can now bring in cards until Friday 11th December. The post box will be closed after this date for cards to de-contaminate. Cards will then be given out on Wednesday 16th December. We suggest tucking the envelope flap inside rather than sealing it. You could use a sticker or some glue or leave the flap unsealed.

Elf Day

Friday 4th December is Elf day! Enjoy dressing up as an Elf for the day! ANY money donations are greatly appreciated during this time.

Library session

Our last Library session for the Autumn term is Tuesday 15th December 2020. Please remember to bring your library book to school.

Homework

This year we will be setting homework tasks a bit differently. Homework will be set online rather than in a homework book. These homework tasks will still be seen and acknowledged by us.

For the time being activities will be set on Spelling Shed, TTRS and Purple Mash. We encourage you to complete them the best you can as they will be relevant to what you are at learning at school. We will also inform you about these tasks each week.

If you cannot access the websites above at any point, please let us know so we can reset them.
