Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Class information

Return to School – Spring 2

We are very excited to welcome you all back to School next Monday 8th March.

Please remember that we will still have PE on Mondays and Fridays so make sure you are dressed in your kit.

We will continue to use our book box for reading books transitioning between home and school.

As always, any concerns please contact us via phone, email or at the gate.

See you all on Monday!

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful summer break. It has been lovely having the children back at school. Please take some time to read the Year four information below.

Our topic for this term is Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. Our knowledge organisers will be on our class page very soon.

PE Days – Mondays and Fridays

Your child will need to wear their PE kit to school on these days, INSTEAD of their school uniform. We will have PE inside (Monday) and outside (Friday). We suggest your child wears their school PE t-shirt and shorts underneath a tracksuit/ joggers (NO football kit please). Please ensure your child also wears trainers.

Class Book Borrowing

Children will be able to select a reading book from school, as usual. Please sign your child’s reading diary when you have heard them read, as well as to confirm they have finished a book and wish to change it. We keep a record of children we hear read throughout the week. We may write comments on a post it note when we have listened to your child read, these will be found in your child's reading diary.

Children have been using our drop-box system well. This is where books which have been borrowed are brought back to school. Your child drops their book into the drop-box, the drop-box is left untouched for at least 72 hours before books are put back onto the book shelves ready to be taken out again. Children always choose from the book corner to take out a new reading book.

School Library days

Every three weeks Year 4 will visit the school Library. This is on a 'bubble' rotation to ensure your children are safe. Each child will select a Library book and keep it for three weeks. Your child will then need to bring their Library book back to exchange for another Library book.

Our next Library session is on Tuesday of 15th December.

Please find attached our Autumn term weekly timetable which sometimes may change according to the class' needs.
