Wednesday 27th October - Homework due Wednesday 3rd November 

 

1. Log onto your Purple Mash and complete your '2do'. You will creatively explain in a leaflet how Diwali is celebrated. Remember to watch the clip first before producing your leaflet. You should also use paragraphs and interesting vocabulary. 

 

2. Reading Logs - How many times do you read to an adult at home? Remember to ask your adult to comment in your reading diary. 

 

Wednesday 13th October 2021 - Half Term Homework

Please spend some time relaxing in the holidays. We have already sent your Spellings and Mental Maths books home for revision. Spellings are also on Spelling Shed. After Half Term, we will be moving onto our next topic in Maths - Measurement, Length and Perimeter. On Purple Mash you will find a '2do' on converting measurements. You will need to know that 1 metre is 100 centimetres and 1 Kilometre is 1000 metres. How many questions can you get right? Ask your adult to teach you simple conversions. 

 

Black History Month 

Research and write a fact file on Purple Mash, it has been set as a '2do'. 

 

Art - Autumn Fun

Enjoy the season of leaves, trees and Pumpkins! Create your own still life picture at home identifying the Ground and Caste Shadow, just like we did at School.  You can send a picture in using your Purple Mash account.

1. Complete set '2do's on Purple Mash. In English this week and next week, Year 4 will be looking at poetry. Your homework is to complete the Poem activities, exploring different types of features such as alliteration and metaphors.

2. Continue to revise your Mental Maths and Spellings. Spellings are also updated on Spelling Shed weekly so your child can play games and activities too. 

 

3. Develop your reading skills at home with an adult, try to read for at least 15 minutes a day. We like to check and read the comments in your child's reading diary to see how they are doing at home.

1. Complete set '2do' on Purple Mash. The activity is a labelling diagram of the ear and a quiz as we have just completed our Science topic about Sound. House points are awarded using the star icon in the comments section. Please encourage your child to look out for them.

This activity is aimed to prepare your child to think and become a newspaper reporter! Remember the features and 5W's we have learnt about so far.
