Reading

In Year 6, we actively encourage children to expand the range of genres they read. This is a fabulous way of increasing vocabulary, general knowledge and a way to magpie ideas for our writing.

We expect children to read at least three times a week and an adult to sign their diaries to confirm that they have either heard them read or have spoken to them to discuss what they have read. 

Reading books and diaries need to be in school every day.. 

School Library

Our library is used to supplement our class library and children are encourage to choose books from both sections which may be taken home. The class will have an opportunity to visit the school library every Monday to change books.

PE

PE will be every Tuesday and Friday. Children will need to arrive in school wearing their PE uniforms on these days. Please ensure that all jewellery is removed beforehand and long hair is tied back. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide tape to cover earrings. In order to safeguard your child, they may miss out on their PE lessons if jewellery is left in and cannot not be removed.
