Under the new framework, schools no longer receive a single overall judgement. Instead, inspectors evaluate a range of key areas individually. The inspection confirmed that safeguarding standards are met, that attendance and behaviour were judged to be of a Strong Standard, and that all remaining areas were found to meet the Expected Standard. 

Inspectors praised the school’s caring ethos, high expectations and strong relationships between staff and pupils. The report noted that pupils “thrive in this school that shows care, kindness and high expectations” and described behaviour across the school as “highly positive”. 

Ofsted also highlighted that pupils feel safe, valued and included, and that classrooms are calm, focused and purposeful. Inspectors recognised that pupils achieve well, with outcomes over the last three years remaining above national averages in reading, writing and mathematics. 

The report commended the school’s ambitious curriculum, thoughtful teaching and strong support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Leaders were praised for their clear vision, commitment to inclusion and focus on continuous improvement.

“We are delighted that the inspection recognised the positive culture we have built together as a school community. The report reflects the dedication of our staff, the support of our families and the wonderful attitudes of our pupils. We are particularly proud that inspectors recognised the kindness, respect and sense of belonging that our children experience every day.”

“This is an excellent report that recognises the strong leadership, high expectations and inclusive culture at St Luke’s. The inspection confirms that pupils are receiving a high-quality education and that leaders have a clear understanding of the next steps needed to continue improving further.” 

Inspectors identified a small number of areas for further development, including strengthening pupils’ handwriting and spelling skills and refining how the impact of some interventions is evaluated. School leaders have already incorporated these priorities into their ongoing improvement plans.
